Get silkier legs

Johnson Smokes Springfield TT

Threatening skies and ankle deep mud wasnt enough to stop the IMDA the Illinois State Fairgrounds track crew from finishing round three of the AMA Ford Quality Checked Flat Track Singles Championship. Originally scheduled to run Saturday night, rain pushed the event back to Memorial Day Monday. Despite all the water the normally cushion race track turned into a slick groove as the sun broke through the clouds. American Suzuki / Parts Unlimiteds Jake Johnson got a great start, rode a near flawless twenty five laps for the win. I got beat here on the last lap in 2003 when the track was like this, said Johnson. I wasnt going to let that happen again.

Johnson was able to pull over a six second lead over Obermeyer Yamaha / Troy Lee Designs Henry Wiles. Wiles had been able to pressure Johnson for a few laps, but soon found himself slipping off the pace.

Nissan CEO: Board members will forego bonus pay

YOKOHAMA, Japan -- Nissan Chief Executive Carlos Ghosn told shareholders Wednesday that the Japanese automaker's board members will forego their bonus pay to take responsibility for poor performance.

Ghosn acknowledged at a hall packed with more than 2,100 shareholders, a record attendance for Nissan, in Yokohama, south of Tokyo, that the company had not met its targets for fiscal 2006.

"We are taking our responsibility seriously," he said.

In the fiscal year ended March, Tokyo-based Nissan Motor Co. marked its first profit drop in seven years _ the first time earnings have slid under the turnaround efforts led by Ghosn.

Ghosn told reporters after the meeting that Nissan was not in talks with any automaker now about expanding the alliance it already has with Renault SA of France.
